When Tiara Monique Garness (pictured) put on her thong bikini over the Memorial Day weekend and strutted her stuff on a sandy beach in Myrtle Beach, S.C., she never imagined she’d wind up behind bars.
The 22-year-old was charged with indecent exposure for wearing the skimpy suit, according to the New York Daily News.
Local police officers reportedly warned Garness to cover up the bikini she was sporting, but when the officer’s warnings fell on deaf ears, they cuffed the young woman. According to the city of Myrtle Beach’s local government page, Garness broke the law by exposing her buttocks:
It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally appear on any public beach, beach access, in the public waters, any other public property, or in view of the public in such a state of dress or undress so as to expose to the view of others specified anatomical areas. Specified anatomical areas means human male or female genitals, pubic area, pubic hair, buttocks, anus, vulva, or any portion of the female breast at or below the areola thereof.
Garness was hauled off to jail and held on a $469 cash bond.
